The Lost Symbol

Intrigue. Mystery. History. Deceit. Name it and the book has it. The moment you turn the first page, Dan Brown leads you on into a journey that’s fast, spell-binding and fast-paced. Mr. Brown weaves together history, legend, science and fiction into a heady mix that keeps you enthralled throughout the book.

Robert Langdon reprises himself as the scholarly professor, yet again caught in a tale of mystery and intrigue – held under the power of an unknown, dangerous man.

5 years of research weaves effortlessly into a 12-hour timeframe, as Dan Brown leads you on into a frightening world of conspiracy and murkiness. Steeped in a deep history of secrecy, the Freemason traditions and customs are brought to light in this book.

Perhaps it is not as controversial as ‘The da Vinci Code’ – which rubbed the Vatican the wrong way, but the book does evoke powerful emotions, and Freemasons will probably not be thrilled with the plot.

But overall, without divulging the story, it can be said that it is worth a read, and one of Mr. Brown’s better works. It does tend to sound like a religious sermon at places, but I guess one can skip over those portions without taking them too seriously.

Happy Reading!!

I do love Brwon's writing. Haven't read the da Vinci Code... I picked it up once but couldn't get into it. Maybe I'll try again.

I too miss my college days. Seeing back, I believe that was such a wonderful time that passed by.

In terms of captivating the reader I think 'Angels & Demons' was better than 'The DiVinci Code'; the latter however became more (in)famous because it rubbed the Vatican the wrong way as you mentioned.

Hope to check this one out sometime. Thanks!

@Roshmi... agreed!

@Grayqull... I like the way he writes too. And I admire the fact that his books are so well-researched.

@Divya... I also wanted to read it in a single sitting. It is so fast-paced that one just doesn't want to let go.

@Ekta... :)

@Rahul... yeah! I thought the ending of Angels and Demons was a bit far-fetched though.

@Shanu... maybe, I should seek a share in the revenue from Mr. Brown.

@Dee... I like his research too. And I guess he's not too great at endings, but he does keep one engrossed throughout.

Hmmm..I liked what I read in Da Vinci Code, liked what I saw in Angels & Demons (didn't quite like the book, funnily)..

So, gotta see how this one goes..

You put things in perspective though.

First time here - not the last, definitely. :-)

By the way, I just stumbled upon your blog somehow and I'm already patting my back for doing so. Your blog is impressive and so are your write-ups.
